Shangan Athletic have become the first team to reach the last eight of thi seasons Umbro F A I Junior Cup after a convincing 4-1 win over LSL king pins Glebe North in their own back yard. Goals from Alan Ray ( 2 ), Joe O Sullivan and Darren Ray rounded of a superb display by Peter and Robbie men. Well done from all the clubs and committee in the A U L .

The A U L Youths progressed to the Quarter Finals of the Umbro F A I Youth Inter League Trophy after this hard fought narrow win over a very strong Wexford League side. Paul Fetherstones men now face an away trip down to Waterford on weekending 28th March. Stephen Rafferty slammed home the winner from twenty five yards out just on the hour mark. The game could have went either way with both keepers pulling off some fantastic saves. The A U L also had the Nivea Man of the Match in Geoff Flood.

Sandyhill Celtic, W F T A and Castleknock Celtic all travelled over to Manchester last weekend as part of their prizes for last season and they all had a ball. Sandyhill won Premier C, W F T A won Senior Saturday and Castlekncok won the Cullen Cup. They also went to see the Premiership game Wigan Athletic v Everton in which the three teams were featured in the match programme. Many pints were sunk and the football banter was excellent.

Jonathan Tormey's A U L Futsal team had a fantastic 6-3 win over League of Ireland Premier side St.Patricks Athletic up in Ballymun tonight. In what was their final game before Tormey names his squad for the upcoming tournament in February the A U L played really good football and they will be a force to be reckoned with. There is another game pencilled in for next Wednesday at 8pm again in Ballymun against Alpha.
