Romstar Win Mullion Cup

In one of the best finals evere seen in the AUL Romstar came from three goals down at half time to beat Aungier Celtic 4-3 after extra time in this exciting final. Goals from Ger Mulligan, Darren Warren and David Byrne had put Aungier 3-0 up at the break but a superb second half by Romstar saw goals from Dorin Pasnicivc, Iosif Farda and Adrien Glied force the game into extra time and in the second period of extra time Man of the Match Alex Gutu slotted home the winner. Well done to both teams for putting on and excellent game of ball.

Killester United picked up the new C&M cup for winning Premier A following their midweek win over Sheriff United. Joey Graydons men had already won the league the previous week due to Ballymun not winning but could only receive the cup last Thursday. They can now check their passports as their prize is a week in Brazil. Well done to all from everyone in the AUL. St.Pauls Artane will play Willows in the final of the O’Neills Leinster Junior Cup after beat Ballymun United 4-1 on penalties after a 0-0 draw. That final is down for 3pm on Sunday June 6th in Tolka Park. We would like to all the clubs in the AUL go along in their club colours and support one of your own that day. Very Important : The League would like to resurrect division 3 Sunday once again and make a serious assault on the Leinster Junior Shield next year. Teams were asked to move up from 3 to 2 and 2A Sunday last year so if you want to go back to playing division 3 football again of if you have a new team thinking of coming into the league please contact Dick on 087 2076518 or email info@aul.ie before the end of the month. Congratulation to Balscadden on winning division 2 Saturday. They can now look forward to division 1A football next season. Killester United won the Paddy Cole Cup last Friday Evening in the complex beating Corduff F C 1-0. Aungier Celtic picked up the Regency Hotel Cup after a pulsating 2-1 win over Rivervalley Rangers. Well done from all in the AUL Congratulations also go to St.Vincents Deaf who beat Trinity/Donaghmede 1-0 to win the Frank Roe Cup. Next up is the final of the Mullion Cup between Aungier Celtic and Romstar and that is on this Thursday at 7pm in the Complex. Also coming up is the final of the Elastoplast Sport Shield between Ayrfield United and Beech Park this Friday at 7pm in the Complex. Also the same evening is the final of the Jim Cullen Cup will be played between Liberty House and Dingle United also at 7pm in the Complex. The final of the Liddy Cup between St.Kevins Boys and the winners of Ballymun United and Sheriff YC is down for next Sunday the 30th at 3pm in the Complex. That semi final is on this Wednesday the 26th at 7pm in the Complex St.Pats/Ards are currently looking for a Senior Saturday Manager for the new season.
