MIXED BAG FOR AUL SIDES IN LEINSTER JUNIOR CUP

A big Leinster Junior Cup weekend and a bit of a mixed-bag as far as AUL teams were concerned.

Friday evening saw Dublin Celtic exit in a hard-fought 2-1 loss to Moyne Rangers.

Hardwicke though got the ball rolling with a 4-2 victory over Suncroft. Dean Byrne and Travis Flood bagging a brace apiece in that one.

Evan Byrne was the hero for Markievicz with a last minute winner in a 1-0 victory over Dublin Hospital.

On Saturday there were heartbreaking defeats for Butterkrust, Phoenix and Clontarf but Carpenterstown kept the flag flying with a stirring 3-1 victory over Dundrum.

They went behind in the 5th minute but goals from Jamie Holland and Craig Norton saw them go in 2-1 at the break. Dundrum pressed for the leveller but Luc Cautley wrapped up the win in the 80th minute for The Carpenters.

FC Donaghmede and St. Mark's suffered defeat but goals from Dylan Graham, Willie Carroll, Seamus Murray, James Cox and a brace from Callum Ridgeway saw Valley Park United run out easy 6-0 winners over Lourdes Celtic.

And The AUL had two great winners on Sunday. You may have read about St. Ita's thrilling 5-4 win over a strong KDL outfit in Fort Rangers. Skryne Tara also emerged victorious with a 3-1 win over St. Patrick's Boys. Jason Fox with two and Sean Keane the scorers for Skryne.

A great win for Newbies Celtic United who went a goal down to Columban's in 3A Saturday, Jay Mulligan the scorer, but they came back to win 4-1 with goals from Judson Lima, Eduardo Corderiro , Jaimilson Pereria and Junior Silva . Well done to referee Noel Preston who came in for praise from the Celtic lads.

It was a good weekend for Ita's though as their Saturday side came from 2-0 down against Earl Celtic at the break to record a 3-2 victory thanks to a brace from Ciaran O'Donoghue and one from Reese Daly.
